Weekly CT Foreclosure Statistics for June 2, 2008

This months Connecticut Foreclosure Statistics once again show New Haven County as having the highest number of Lis Pendens in the state. By a lot. CT Foreclosure Auctions and CT REO numbers are down across the board either because they are not being reported or because they were just down. To determine trends, and see if the foreclosure rates are increasing or decreasing, monthly foreclosure stats should be viewed as part of longer term foreclosure statistics.

If you are a homeowner facing foreclosure, these foreclosure statistics may not seem to be important, but they may help you rrealize that you are not alone, and you are not the only one having financial difficulties right now. If you watch the news, you know there is a lot of issues with the economy and a lot of issues with people not being able to afford their homes. Foreclosure rates are high in many parts of the country with Connecticut being one of the harder hit states.

Here are this months CT forelosure statistics:

               Lis
County        Pendens  Auctions  REOs
Fairfield       66        2       1
Hartford        34        -       2
Litchfield      23        -       1
Middlesex        8        1       -
New Haven       94        1       1

Tolland         13        -       1
Windham         17        -       -
Totals:        267        7       7

As you can see, New Haven county had 94 Lis Pendens filed, which is about 50% higher than the next highest, Fairfield county. Hang in there people.

Also, look for some additional informational posts coming soon at CT Foreclosure. I have plans for articles on a number of topics including Loss Mitigation and Loss Mit companies, Real Estate Investors and how they operate, Real Estate Agents and how they come into play, Loan Modification, Short Sales, Mortgage Brokers, non-profit companies, state resources and whether just walking away is a good option.
