I finally found the issue with my RSS Feed. There was an issue with one of the Wordpress Plug-ins so I had to deactivate it. No big deal. You can subscribe to the CT Foreclosure RSS Feed by clicking the link in the Sidebar under Subscribe to My Feed.
Here are this week's foreclosure stats for Connecticut's eight counties from The Warren Group:
Lis
County Pendens Auctions REOs
Fairfield 56 11 1
Hartford 70 2 5
Litchfield 14 1 1
Middlesex 14 0 1
New Haven 71 2 3
New London 27 1 0
Tolland 12 0 0
Windham 27 0 1
Totals: 291 18 12
Lis Pendens are down a bit this week and hopefully that is a sign of things to come…but I doubt it.
I just discovered that the RSS feed for this blog (CT Foreclosure) is not functioning. I may as well take this opportunity to completely upgrade this site and give it a much needed makeover. I apologize in advance if the site is unavailable for any period of time while I get this site straightened out and upgraded. I 'm going to try and have this all done by the end of the week.
Yes, it's Cinco de Mayo today. I hope everyone can take a little time to celebrate at least a little.
Here are this week's foreclosure stats from The Warren Group:
Lis
County Pendens Auctions REOs
Fairfield 86 16 10
Hartford 63 2 7
Litchfield 12 1 1
Middlesex 13 0 1
New Haven 168 28 28
New London 20 0 6
Tolland 3 0 0
Windham 4 0 0
Totals: 369 47 53
I hope that formatting comes out okay in the blog. As you can see, the numbers are generally down across the board with the exception of the number of Lis Pendends files in New Haven, which are up big from last week.

Apparently we will be seeing a lot more foreclosure activity on Alt-A loans in the near future as homeowners are simply walking away from their negative equity properties. These loans were made on higher priced homes with buyers who have good credit scores. They are learning that they be better off simply letting their houses go back to the bank than by maintaining ownership of a property that is financially upside-down. I will be doing more research on this and posting about it soon.

Law and Order this evening included a storyline with a supposed example of how someone could take advantage of a homeowner in foreclosure by tricking them into signing over ownership of their property. In the show's example, the scammer was acting as a concerned rescue company that helped homeowners KEEP their home. He then had the homeowners sign a Quit Claim Deed which effectively gave all ownership of the property to the scammer. He stated it was just temporary to show the lender that the they were serious about resolving their foreclosure situation. He then went on to sell the property without the homeowners' knowledge. …Click to Read More on Foreclosure Scam on Law & Order
